Summary of known hazards and risks to human health:

Can cause damage to blood including haemolysis and bone marrow depression. On ingestion causes nausea and vomiting, which may be followed by liver and kidney damage.

Expected effect of the final regulatory action in relation to human health:

It shall extend necessary support to textile manufacturing units in achieving ISO 9000 and ISO 14000 standards by not using hazardous Benzidine based dyes for dyeing. This will also give thrust to development of ecofriendly dyes.
